You absolutely rock at what you do.
Your business is your life. Whether it's gorgeous cake-baking, inspired bookkeeping, or organization for a paper-free office, you do great things. And that's where I come in.
I take care of everything you need to make sure that everyone on the Internet knows how awesome your work is...so you can focus on the work of being awesome. Making award-winning pizzas. Providing health care for new moms. Giving speeches to motivate high-school students. Manufacturing eco-friendly dog accessories.
There's no such thing as the Yellow Pages anymore [unless you mean those books that sit on apartment porches until they get rained on and disintegrate]. You need to make yourself visible to the masses some other way.
Social media is one important way to do this - in fact, that's why every site design package I offer includes social media integration. But your own website is the only place where you can control the conversation 100%. Your own content, which is yours even after the social media tool du jour has shut down or gone out of vogue. Your own branding - your logo, your colors, your very own billboard/storefront/megaphone in your own webspace.
So in a nutshell, here's how I work:
- You tell me what you want; I'll do the hard work. We start with a three-hour strategy session. This is where we'll talk about what you're currently doing, what's working, what's not, and what it's going to take for me to rock your socks off. After that, I'll draft a project contract with deadlines, deliverables, and to-dos. And then I'll get them done. That's all - you just sit back and relax.
- Ongoing support, maintenance, and content updates are included. I'm not the kind of developer that finishes a project, cashes your check and disappears. Whenever you need an update to your site, I'll make it happen as quickly as possible. And even if your site doesn't need any content updates, I've still got your back - I'll be doing monthly site backups, and most of my plans also include analytics reports on where your traffic is coming from and how you can harness it to share your work better.
- I'm not a huge design firm...and I think that's better. Here's why:
- The person who's doing the work is the same person who's doing the sales. [Hint: They're both me.] Larger firms often have a disconnect between the sales people and the developers, meaning that the sales people will promise the moon just to make a sale ["Oh, you need it done tomorrow? Of course! Oh, and it's Flash, and needs to be compatible with both Internet Explorer 5 and Android? No problem!"] and then leave the developers to figure out how to get the work done. You can avoid that with me - I'm very well aware of what my own working limits are, and I'm not going to upsell you at the expense of your trust [and my own sanity].
- At any time, I might be doing support, maintenance, and updates for any number of my clients. But at all times, I keep my client load small. This ensures that during the design and development phase, your site gets the attention it deserves.
- No voice-mail jail. Some developers prefer to communicate solely via email. I'm not one of them. You can call me, and I'll actually call you back. I'm also available via text, email, or Skype.
- First and foremost, I'm a communicator. I always do my best to avoid excessive jargon or techspeak - no acronyms, nothing that sounds overly confusing or too much like Klingon. I want to make sure you know exactly what's going on with your site in language you understand so you can tell me what you most need from me.
- My money-back guarantee. I knock myself out for my clients. They're the apples of my eye...the cream in my coffee! I want to make sure each and every one of them is getting what he or she needs to make their websites rock. That's why, if you're ever unsatisfied with the quality of work I'm doing on your website, let me know and I'll issue you a no-questions-asked refund of the remainder of the site design package. I've never had to issue a refund before, and I'm confident that you'll love working with me, but if you don't, I want to make sure you're happy.
